Inevitabilul despre care se discuta de ceva vreme s-a produs, iar Bethsda anunţă oficial The Elder Scrolls Online, mutarea online sub formă de MMO a cunoscutei seriii RPG. Noul titlu este realizat de ZeniMax Online Studios şi va apărea pe PC şi Mac, echipa creatoare fiind coordonată de Matt Firor, un vetaran al jocurilor online.
“We have been working hard to create an online world in which players will be able to experience the epic Elder Scrolls universe with their friends, something fans have long said they wanted,” said Matt Firor, game director of The Elder Scrolls Online. “It will be extremely rewarding finally to unveil what we have been developing the last several years. The entire team is committed to creating the best MMO ever made – and one that is worthy of The Elder Scrolls franchise.”
Cel mai recent titlu din serie, Skyrim, a fost lansat în noiembrie 2011 şi a primit foarte multe aprecieri; de asemenea, succesul său s-a măsurat şi în peste 10 milioane de unităţi vândute numai în prima lună de la lansare, ceea ce îl face al doilea cel mai bine vândut joc de anul trecut şi cel mai rapid vândut produs din istoria Steam.
