Acum 12 ani se năştea primul beta al MOD-ului Counter-Strike pentru Half-Life, iar Valve nu se culcă pe laurii încă foarte moi ai succesului modificării devenite joc de sine stătător. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) este o nouă versiune multiplatformă pentru Counter-Strike, plănuită să apară la începutul anului viitor penntru PC, OS X (prin Steam), PlayStation Network şi Xbox LIVE Arcade. Valve colaborează cu un studio din Seattle, Hidden Path Entertainment, iar jocul va fi prezentat la PAX Prime şi London Games Festival Eurogamer Expo 2011.
Evident, CS: GO va conţine hărţi, personaje, arme şi versiuni aduse la zi ale conţinutului deja clasic din Counter-Strike-ul vechi, plus moduri noi de gameplay, matchmaking, leaderboard-uri etc.
“Counter-Strike took the gaming industry by surprise when the unlikely MOD became the most played online PC action game in the world almost immediately after its release in August 1999,” said Doug Lombardi, VP of Marketing at Valve. “For the past 12 years, it has continued to be one of the most-played games in the world, headline competitive gaming tournaments and selling over 25 million units worldwide across the franchise. CS: GO promises to expand on CS’ award-winning gameplay and deliver it to gamers on the PC as well as the next gen consoles and the Mac.”
Era o veste si mai buna daca anuntau ca vor lucra si la “Episoade” asa cum au promis candva. Oricum, chiar si asa e totusi o veste buna (joc CS inca din primele lui zile 🙂 )
