După o serie de zvonuri şi chicoteli, CD Project RED anunţă oficial Cyberpunk drept cel mai nou proeict al lor, un RPG bazat pe sistemul pen-and-paper Cyberpunk. Evident, nu există încă o dată de lansare, iar echipa producătoare va fi compusă din veterani care au lucrat la seria Witcher. Promisiunile studioului susţin că Cyberpunk va avea toate acele elemente care au făcut The Withcer un succes, cu un conţinut matur ce va cere oferi enorm jucătorilor serioşi de RPG-uri.
Jocul va fi non-liniar, detaliat, cu o poveste antrenanta, lucruri pe care le putem crede dacă privim la seria The Witcher. Jucătorii vor avea de ales dintre mai multe clase – de la mercenari la hackeri – pe care să-i echipeze cu diverse implanturi cibernetice şi arme letale. Desigur, nu vor lipsi alegerile morale, acţiunile şi alegerile influenţând lumea jocului şi soarta NPC-urilor întâlnite.
Designer-ul RPG-ului original Cyberpunk, Mike Pondsmith, a declarat:
“For over two decades, I’ve been proud to say that Cyberpunk’s been the gold standard of what it means to be a true cyberpunk game. And it’s been a huge success for me and our many fans, with over 5 million players worldwide. But over all that time we haven’t found the right team to bring our cyberpunk world to full digital life — until now. CD Projekt Red is the team we’ve been hoping for. Their incredible work on The Witcher and The Witcher 2 shows that they share the same dedication and love of great games that we do at Talsorian. I’m especially stoked that they want our participation in making this game a fantastic project that will live up to everything Cyberpunk fans (old and new) have been waiting for.
